  • SIC+ countries meet to discuss awareness raising and youth participation

    Global participants in the SIC+ programme recently took part in a webinar to share experiences and good practices relating to awareness raising and youth participation in online safety issues. The Insafe and INHOPE networks launched the SIC+ initiative with the aim of extending and replicating the successful Safer Internet Centre (SIC) model beyond Europe.

    From 27-29 August 2019, the Estonian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) arranged, together with partners, a three-day summer-seminar-camp in Nelijärve Holiday Centre. The camp was targeted at children and youth who were interested in speaking on a variety of topics related to the digital world, and supporting conscious and safe behaviour of their peers and younger people on the internet.

    Child Focus is taking youth participation to the next level! In order to find motivated and enthusiastic youngsters for our Youth Platform, we want to implement a structured approach towards Belgian secondary schools. Interested schools who want to work on initiatives for better online experiences and related topics can apply to participate in the initiative for ‘Youth Ambassadors for Better Internet'. A minimum of 20 schools will be chosen on a yearly basis.
