The Spanish Safer Internet Centre (SIC), Internet Segura for Kids (IS4K), celebrated Safer Internet Day 2019 with the following activities:
Safer Internet Day event
An event was held with different activities throughout the day. There was a programme of inspirational talks in two auditoriums held for children, educators and parents, as well as an interactive workshop for the youngest users. The entire event was developed around this year's motto: "A better internet starts with you: sharing with respect for a secure internet".
During the event the awards of the "CyberChallenge SID2019" took place in the category of educational centres, as well as the distinctions of the Cibercooperantes Programme, of the Cibercooperator of the Year 2018 (selected from among all the members of the programme who have given awareness talks, taking into account the number of talks given and the evaluation of the centres), and the Cibercooperator of Honor which, this year, was awarded to Her Majesty Queen Letizia, receiving the recognition for her contribution in the transmission of values of tolerance, respect and solidarity in all areas, including the online environment.
Finally, this year the event had an exhibition space of stands and demos for companies to present their solutions, products or services related to cybersecurity, privacy and the safe use of ICT by minors.
Awareness talks in educational centres
Thanks to the collaboration of the Cibercooperantes Programme and Scholar Sessions, more than 110 awareness talks were given across Spain during SID 2019 week, covering topics such as privacy and safety online.
Dissemination of SID 2019 through social networks
INCIBE and IS4K asked their followers on Twitter and Facebook to join SID 2019 by using the #SID2019 and #SaferInternetDay hashtags (the official hashtags of the SID campaign which are used worldwide) and #DiaInternetSegura hashtag (a hashtag that freely translates the motto of this year into Spanish).

With the aim of highlighting the positive nature of living together on the internet, the 2019 slogan: "A better internet starts with you: coexisting with respect for a secure internet", invites us to join the global movement, participate and make the most of the internet to unite people.
Internet Segura for Kids (IS4K) has delivered various different activities to celebrate and show this day to its target audiences: a public event with talks for children, parents and educators; a fair of security solutions focused on the minor; awareness talks through the Cibercooperantes Programme and activities to give visibility to SID 2019 in SoMe.

About the organisation
Internet Segura for Kids (IS4K) is the Centre for Internet Security for minors in Spain, the purpose of which is the fostering of a safe and responsible use of the internet and new technologies among children and teenagers. Its main goals are:
- Raising awareness and to train minors, young people, families, educators and professionals working with minors through the development of national campaigns, initiatives and programmes.
- Offering a helpline service to advise and assist minors, families, educators and professionals working with minors on how to face risks on the internet: harmful contents, dangerous contacts and inappropriate behaviours.
- Organising Safer Internet Day (SID) in Spain.
- Reducing the availability of criminal content on the internet, mainly related to child abuse, giving support to law enforcement agencies.
IS4K is led and coordinated by the SESIAD (State Secretariat for the Information Society and Digital Agenda, as per the Spanish acronym), with the support of Red.es, and it executes its services through the INCIBE (Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute, as per the Spanish acronym), in collaboration with other reference entities.
