There are several resources available in Malta targeting children and young people, parents and carers, and teachers, but they are not specifically positive online content. This content is made available both as hard copies, distributed in all schools and during information days, and via the website of the Maltese Safer Internet Centre (SIC) at www.besmartonline.org.mt under the resources and downloads section. Almost all material created is available in both Maltese and English since these languages are the most popular in Malta.
There is currently no specific legislation which directly supports the topic of online content but the 2017 National Children's Policy addresses issues of enhancing positive development and experiences for children. This policy document presents Malta's way forward for safeguarding and promoting the rights and general well being of children.
