YOUTH

Youth participation in the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) agenda allows young people to express their views and exchange knowledge and experiences concerning their use of online technologies, as well as tips on how to stay safe.

They also advise on internet safety and empowerment strategy, help create innovative resources and disseminate eSafety messages to their peers.

Training day for CyberSafety Youth Panel in Cyprus

Within the framework of the European co-funded project ‘CΥberSafety – Better Internet for Kids' (https://www.cybersafety.cy/)  the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute of the Ministry of Education and Culture organised a training day for the members of the CYberSafety Youth Panel, Cyprus. The training day was held at the campus of the University of Cyprus in Nicosia on Saturday, 2 February 2019, and was attended by forty students.

Portugal – Youth competition on online safety on social networks

DECO, the Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection, with the support of Google Portugal, is promoting NET Viva e Segura (2nd Edition), a national initiative that invites the educational community to produce videos to demonstrate the importance of engaging in social networks safely and while being aware of privacy challenges.

The Pineapple Report – European youth and the digital revolution

European teenagers use their voices for digital good at Italy's Safer Internet Day events

On Monday, 4 February 2019, the 2020 Smarter Internet for Kids Agenda took place in Milan, Italy, gathering many different stakeholders to discuss the priority areas affecting young people online. Microsoft participated in the event to hear the ideas and view the work of dozens of teens, and to promote digital civility, safer and healthier online interactions among all people. During the event, the youth also presented 16 goals to mark 16 years of Safer Internet Day.

Safer Internet Day 2019 celebrations in Brazil

Microsoft's Council for Digital Good, six months later

The campaign's slogan, "Together for a better internet", is a call to action for all stakeholders to join together and play their part in creating a better internet for everyone, and especially for children and young people.

Living our best lives: Managing your online wellbeing, Zeminar 2018
