With the internet now one of the most important sources of information, education and entertainment for many people, it is vital that industry, government, schools and other relevant organisations work together to help children and young people use the internet in a safe and responsible way.

The second ICT Coalition Forum meeting of the year took place on 14 July 2016 with representatives from industry, NGOs and the civil society, and the European Commission debating on what is currently happening and on the future challenges. Topics covered included the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) and the impact of marketing through social media, online games and mobile applications on children's behaviour.

The agenda from the day along with many of the presentations are now available on the ICT Coalition website while the ICT Coalition News Bulletin provides further information on the work of the Coalition, including planned events and ongoing initiatives.
