New resources from the Finnish Hotline for SID

Save the Children Finland maintain the Finnish Hotline Nettivihje. For Safer Internet Day (SID) 2017, it is promoting four new resources.

1. #Daretotell - video
The aim of this video is to encourage young people to tell about sexual harassment they have experienced online. It is targeted at children aged 13 and over. Save the Children Finland made the video in cooperation with another Finnish NGO, Mannerheim League for Child Welfare.
 

 

2. #Daretotell – a guide for professionals (available in Finnish only)
Save the Children Finland produced a guide for professionals working with young people to discuss sexual harassment which young people may encounter online.

3. Help, my mobile phone does not work! – a guide
The aim of this guide is to strengthen the communication capabilities of young people in emergency or crises. The guide was made in cooperation with the Finnish Red Cross as part of a campaign to raise awareness on how to act and communicate in emergency situations The guide is available in Finnish and in English.

4. Raising awareness of child sexual exploitation – event
In Finland, Safer Internet Day is celebrated for a whole week from 6-12 February 2017. As part of Safer Internet Week, Save the Children Finland is organising an event on work against online child sexual exploitation. The event consists of three speakers and discussion. The speakers are hotline analyst Nina Vaaranen‐Valkonen, Sari Sarani from the National Bureau of Investigation and the manager of Finnish Hotline

4. Nettivihje, Antti Järventaus.

The event will take place on Thursday, 9 February 2017 from 9am to 11am at Save the Children Finland's head office in Helsinki and is open for anyone interested in the topic. For further information, see the Facebook event page (in Finnish).
