In Portugal and since 2007, Linha Alerta is the reference INHOPE member hotline, which operates across the country and was established under the Safer Internet Project Internet Segura.

Delegates shared best common practices and discussed most recent initiatives (WePROTECT/UNICEF Fund), challenges (encryption and anonymisation tools, live streaming) and trends (more graphic content, younger victims) revolving around the fight against online child sexual abuse. A strong focus was placed on the network's strategy and vision for the years ahead, as well as integrated projects, including our new technology platform, which deploys image and video fingerprinting and feeds into the INTERPOL victim identification database (ICSE).

Partners from INTERPOL and Google provided key insights as per the threat assessment and operational value of partnerships, not to forget safe search, prevention and deterrence strategies. Other high-level speakers included Dr. Jeremy Prichard, author and senior lecturer in criminology and criminal law at the University of Tasmania.
