"When Free Isn't" - new eNACSO policy paper on children and business practices online
On 15 June 2016, eNACSO (the European NGO alliance for child safety online) releases "When Free Isn't", a report which makes a strong case for improved policy, law and action to protect children against unfair and damaging business practices online.

For many young digital influencers in Europe, using social media and video-sharing platforms has become intrinsic in their daily routine whenever they want to disseminate information. Recognising the potential of these platforms to bridge gaps between the policy makers and European youth, European institutions are increasingly using such technologies as dissemination tools also.

Children and youth are consumers of so many different technologies but rarely have the chance to have a closer look at what is behind the technology. In May 2015, a group of students from the IT University of Copenhagen Games Education, in collaboration with The Media Council for Children & Young People and the Danish Film Institute, held a workshop for a group of 5th graders, inviting the pupils to have a look behind the scenes of video games development.
