Positive content and well-being at home
- Connecting with children and teenagers through games. Due to lockdown measures, more and more of us experience isolation and the disappearance of the social interactions we used to have. The situation becomes even more complicated if we have children, who are suddenly forced to stay at home. To make this period as easy as possible, Save the Children Romania shares suggestions of activities that can be done at home with children.
- What do you do (with so much free time)? During the lockdown, we are spending more time than usual at home. For this reason, it is important to find those little ways and tricks that improve the time at home as much as possible, and help us turn it into an opportunity to learn, relax and connect with loved ones, even if we are at a distance.
- What is anxiety and how do we manage it? The COVID-19 pandemic has caused major changes in people's lives around the globe, and such a sudden and widespread change can be stressful. It is natural that during this time we will feel strong or even overwhelming emotions. Proper management of anxiety can greatly help us get through this period.
How to respond to online risks under the COVID-19 pandemic
- An invitation to a self-reflection process about online information. The global rush for information that we are living in these days can exacerbate behaviors that do not help our well-being. Save the Children Romania invites you to open the discussion about our attitude towards information online and how to effectively use the internet and the television in isolation.
Emergency remote teaching
- The context of learning in isolation. After several weeks of schools closure, the situation of education in Romania is still uncertain as there is not an official position of the Ministry of Education and Research about a methodology to continue teaching activities online. This situation generates anxiety and stress in teachers, students, parents and anybody else involved in the learning process. This article offers some guidance for teachers on emergency remote teaching.
- Letter for teachers. Article in the form of a letter that contains advice for teachers on how to handle this difficult time with their students.
The Romanian Safer Internet Centre also provides helpline services allowing children and young people, and parents and carers to access personalised advice and support. Equally, it provides a hotline for reporting any illegal content you mind find online. Don't hesitate to contact them in case of need!

According to the latest study conducted by Save the Children Romania for the Romanian Safer Internet Centre, 31 per cent of Romanian children spent less time with their family, friends or doing things for school in order to stay on the internet, and 28 per cent of children say they tried, without succeeding, to spend less time on the internet.
