Artificial intelligence will be the key focus of this training meeting, with a keynote session entitled "Emerging technologies: AI – what is it and why does it matter?". Martin Žnidaršič from the Department of Knowledge Technologies at the Jožef Stefan Institute will give an overview of AI methods and their characteristics, while Filip Muki Dobranić, debater, hacker, philosopher, sociologist of culture and social media theorist, will discuss how datasets affect people and algorithms.

In addition, a panel discussion on "Parenting for a digital future" will feature four parenting experts: Albert and Leonida Mrgole, psychotherapeutic counsellors for parents, Antoaneta Vassileva from the Bulgarian SIC, and Barbara Buchegger from the Austrian SIC. Together and with the audience, they will discuss the challenges and best practice when it comes to reaching parents and having a meaningful dialogue with them about their children's online experiences.

Participants will further explore the challenges and opportunities of emerging technologies regarding children's online safety and wellbeing through a series of parallel sessions on fake shops and personal pricing, using AI for age verification, and using AI to support learning. This training meeting will, as with previous editions, feature a wide variety of Open Space Technology sessions, while whole-network discussions will focus on planning for the 2020 edition of Safer Internet Day (SID).

Hans Martens, Insafe Network Coordinator, said: "We are looking forward to yet another occasion for European Safer Internet Centres to develop and enrich the collaborative learning community that Insafe represents by meeting face-to-face to exchange expertise and best practice. This time around, they will have the opportunity to discuss emerging online issues that are gaining in significance in our rapidly changing online ecosystem, as well as their potential repercussions on children and young people's online safety and wellbeing across Europe and beyond."
