Follow the 12th International Conference "Keeping Children and Young People Safe Online"

We are pleased to invite you to follow the 12th International Conference "Keeping Children and Young People Safe Online", which will take place at the Novotel Airport Hotel in Warsaw on 18 and 19 September 2018 and will be livestreamed online.

The conference is organised by the Polish and German Safer Internet Centres (SICs) and co-organised by the International Telecommunication Union. The main partner of the event is Orange Foundation. It will bring together approximately 500 representatives from the education sector, NGOs, law enforcement, government and industry.

The event will address a wide variety of issues relating to children's and young people's safety online, such as irresponsible online behaviour, harmful content, gaming and internet addiction. It will also explore the emerging answers that various stakeholders are bringing to these online threats, from educational strategies to new technology development.

The conference aims to raise awareness of the new challenges and opportunities in the fight against online threats and to help share best practices across different sectors. Sessions will be led by recognised international experts in the field of child protection. The languages of the conference will be English and Polish.

For the 12th International Conference on Keeping Children and Young People Safe Online, Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, released a video message to congratulate the organisers of the event, the Polish and German Safer Internet Centres. She also reaffirmed her commitment to involve all stakeholders – policymakers, civil society organisations, teachers, parents, young people and children themselves – in the challenge to give children and young people the tools to become fully equipped digital citizens.

The 12th International Conference "Keeping Children and Young People Safe Online" will take place on 18-19 September 2018 at the Novotel Airport Hotel in Warsaw, Poland. The event is jointly organised by the Polish and German Safer Internet Centres.
