Association "Langas į ateitį" (part of the Lithuanian Safer Internet Centre (SIC)) has been the Lithuanian national partner for GOW since its launch back in 2010, when everything started with Get Online Day. The campaign will take place for the eighth time from 27 March to 2 April 2017.
GOW 2017 in Lithuania will focus on two main topics: trust and confidence (security). The National Digital Coalition and the Lithuanian Safer Internet Centre are the main partners of the campaign, together with many more national organisations involved in the activities.
The main activities of GOW 2017 will be training and awareness raising, including:
- Cybersecurity: promotion of training materials in Lithuanian schools and libraries, including the WebWeWant and Digital Gold Diggers resources.
- eServices: in partnership with the association of Lithuanian banks, webinars will be held on safety issues of financial literacy and data privacy, e-banking services online, along with meetings with experts organised in public libraries.
- Employment and entrepreneurship: 40 youth job centres will organise NEET (not in employment, education or training) groups which will be involved in interactive events.
As in previous years, GOW 2017 in Lithuania will be promoted and covered through different media channels, such as social networks, partners' websites, newsletters, national TV and radio, E-skills campaign channels.
