The event is also a great opportunity to showcase how digital is transforming our societies and economies, and how it can help bring positive change to our lives. It is co-organised by the European Commission and the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The Digital Assembly is structured around four workshops reflecting four vital issues for future digital policies:

  • Digital 4 Leadership – How to boost European innovation, cybersecurity and data economy to achieve a self-reliant European digital ecosystem?
  • Digital 4 Communities – How best to scale, share and monitor the digital innovation of smart and sustainable initiatives so that they lead to benefits to local economy, local services and local democracy?
  • Digital 4 Planet – How can digital innovation and solutions contribute to tackle climate change and support environment policies related to circular economy, quality of life (clean air/water) and protection of nature and biodiversity? How can the ICT sector itself become greener by reducing its energy consumption? How to minimise e-waste?
  • Digital 4 Jobs – How to address the shortage of skilled ICT workers and the restructuring of the labour market due to digital transformation? How to manage the impact of digitalisation on social security and pensions systems?
