The European Youth Week takes place from Monday, 29 April to Sunday, 5 May 2019. It is organised by the European Commission (EC) and coordinated at national level by the Erasmus+ National Agencies. For the occasion, a wealth of events will take place across Europe, as well as a central event in Brussels. Find out more information about it on BIK Youth.

For the occasion, here are a few resources on democratic participation produced by the Insafe network of Safer Internet Centres (SICs), specifically for young people.

The voting booth – In French, "isoloir" means "voting booth". This platform invites young people (aged 14-19) to experiment with different citizenship modes and to make their voices heard on society's most salient issues.

GDPR-WHAT? – This Danish online magazine talks about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and digital self-defence through videos, podcasts, board games, a toolbox and a checklist to empower young people to take control of their personal data online.

Populism Bingo – This game, available in English and Finnish, is a way to examine political discourse and recognise elements of populist rhetoric in it. As such, it aims to promote media literacy, active citizenship, democracy and freedom of speech.

Video "How to spot fake news" – This short video on disinformation was created by young people, for young people. It is available in Greek, with English subtitles.

These materials (and many others) can be found in the ever-growing BIK repository of resources.
