The klicksafe Youth Panel is a group of pupils who keep an eye on trends in the digital world and try to stay informed about the internet. As "media scouts", they help their peers to navigate the digital universe by offering presentations about Facebook, WhatsApp and many other online services.

In this flyer, the tone is similar to a conversation between teenagers, and the guide exists in German and in English. It includes advice on the following themes:

  • Think before you post! – The potential consequences of putting yourself in the digital spotlight, and how to protect yourself.
  • Fighting the giant corporations or David against Goliath – How Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp all belong to the same corporation, Facebook Inc., which therefore owns a huge amount of personal information.
  • Protecting yourself online – How to protect your personal data against hackers.
  • Nosy apps – How do you take control of your smartphone when it turns into a real stalker, (transmitting your location; with apps constantly harvesting data)?
  • Don't give haters, trolls and bullies a chance! – How to defend yourself and other people from bullies and trolls on the internet?
  • Non-stop gaming? – How to find the balance between gaming and real life?
  • Just because you can do it doesn't mean it's legal – How to make sure you are not infringing people's right to their own image, copyright, terms and condition, and so on?
  • E-Democracy – get involved! – How to take full advantage from online participation?
  • Go creative! – How to go from being a spectator to creating your own content online (programming, memes, and so on)?
