This contest is promoted by the Portuguese network of school libraries (Rede de Bibliotecas Escolares) in a joint collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (Secretaria-Geral da Presidência do Conselho de Ministros) in partnership with the National Commission of UNESCO (CNU), Directorate-General for Education (Direção-Geral da Educação), Altice Portugal Foundation (FAPT), Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the National Reading Plan 2027 (PNL2027).
In this context, a set of ten videos were produced to support students and teachers in creating videos. These are available on the contest's YouTube channel. The ten episodes aim to explore the specific characteristics of the audiovisual language, and to guide teachers and students throughout the different stages of video production (such as pre-production, filming and post-production).
The episodes available are the following:
- How to create a good story
- How to search for and check information
- How to create a script and a storyboard
- Plans
- Angles
- Camera movements
- Light
- Audio
- Edition
- Final credits
This contest has a very strong pedagogical importance, promoting within the educational community the critical, responsible and creative use of the media and for that reason, emphasising the importance to invest in this type of resources.
Similarly to former editions, in 2020, there is an explicit reference to these episodes in the participation regulation as a pedagogical resource that has to be considered during the production of the videos and when the proposals to the contest are submitted.
