"On 9 February 2016, the Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) marked international Safer Internet Day (SID) with a conference on the internet of the future, titled ‘Dos and don'ts… for a few likes more'.

"The conference started with a short ceremony, during which three Cyberscout teams from the Bulgarian towns of Popovo, Smolyan and Vidin were awarded.

"All Cyberscouts, who completed their training in 2015, participated in a contest to organise the most original and interesting event for raising awareness among their peers about online dangers, and ways of preventing them. The contest entries were evaluated by a three-member jury.

"Mr. Tsvyatko Georgiev, Deputy Minister of Interior of Bulgaria, presented the awards to the winners from Popovo, which were provided by Telenor Bulgaria. The team from Smolyan, which was placed second in the content, was awarded by Mr. Yavor Kolev, Head of the Cybercrime Unit of the Chief Directorate ‘Combating Organised Crime'. The third placed team from Vidin received their awards from Mrs. Vessela Kalacheva, CEO of the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies (BAIT). BAIT members provided awards for all three teams.

"The young Cyberscouts did not just receive awards – they also presented incredible gifts to the Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre! Our friends from Popovo gave us a beautiful painting, made by 12-year-old Radostina Todorova. We received a valuable present from the Smolyan team as well - a book about the rich history of their school ‘St. Cyril and Methodius', established 160 years ago! We are extremely thankful for the gifts."
