During the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, celebrated annually by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality in Moncloa, recognitions were given to individuals and institutions whose work in eradicating violence against women were meaningful and has helped to improve social awareness to prevent and combat gender-based violence.
Mariano Rajoy, President of the Government of Spain, presented the recognition to Jorge Flores, Founder and Director of PantallasAmigas. This distinction highlights the new and growing forms of violence against women that are manifested in relationships lived through the internet, especially in the adolescent stage.
