This year, 18 youth panellists from 15 European countries have been selected to represent their peers and share their perspectives on how to foster a better internet for children and young people. As usual, the main aim of the BIK Youth programme is to prepare these young people to be active participants in the Safer Internet Forum (SIF), which this year will focus on "The impact of technology on children, young people and society".

The BIK youth panellists will have the opportunity to take the floor to deliver an interactive deep-dive session during SIF. They have already started to follow a series of online meetings to exchange their views on online safety and media literacy, and to discuss their ideas for the upcoming event.

This preliminary work will lead up to a full-day workshop at the Google office in Brussels on Monday, 19 November 2018. The panellists will then be able to finalise their project in anticipation of their intervention at SIF the following day.
