UK Safer Internet Centre a finalist in 2018 ISPA Awards

The UK Safer Internet Centre (SIC) has been shortlisted for an ISPA Award under the category Best Project or Partnership. The UK Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA), which hosts the awards, has chosen the UK Safer Internet Centre as a worthy candidate for the Best Project or Partnership Award 2018, which is one of three new awards added for 2018.

SWGfL publishes report into what causes young people upset online

South West Grid for Learning (SWGfL), a partner in the UK Safer Internet Centre (SIC), has recently published a report that explores what causes young people upset online. The report is the second in a series titled "Young people, internet use and wellbeing in the UK". Compiled by Professor Andy Phippen from Plymouth University, the series explores the role of technology on young people's wellbeing. Each report in the series will have a specific area of focus, such as gender, age differences, and what harmful content means to young people. It assesses data provided by more than 8,200 young people from the ages of 9 - 18 across over 100 schools in the UK.

Mobilising the UK to "Create, connect and share respect" on SID 2018

Children and the GDPR

Research published today by children's charity Childnet as part of a Europe-wide project reveals that young people across the UK are being targeted by their peers with online sexual harassment, defined as unwanted sexual conduct, across a range of digital platforms.
