Screen time do's and don'ts

Screen time has, since the inception of television, been cited by parents and educators as being an issue among children and youth. The proliferation of tablets and smartphones seems to have rekindled such worries, particularly in view of the fact that unlike TVs, these powerful devices are portable. The situation is further exasperated by the myriad of activities available through such devices such as; socialising, particularly through social networking sites and messaging services as well as  entertainment through media streaming and games.

"Iene Miene Media" 2018 study on media education of young children

Norwegian resource concerning the youngest children and screen time receives great interest

The Norwegian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) recently published guidelines and posters containing advice about young children's use of online technology. Health centres for infants, daycare centres and preschools have shown great interest in these guidelines, indicating a great need for knowledge on technology use from an early age.
