Training for trainers on "Useful, creative and safe use of the internet by children" in Romania

In the beginning of 2019 – between Monday, 14 January and Friday, 18 January – the Romanian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) Ora de Net team organised a training for trainers coming from Teaching Staff Houses from all over the country on children's internet use, to prepare them to deliver successful trainings to the teachers of their respective counties.

According to the latest study conducted by Save the Children Romania for the Romanian Safer Internet Centre, 31 per cent of Romanian children spent less time with their family, friends or doing things for school in order to stay on the internet, and 28 per cent of children say they tried, without succeeding, to spend less time on the internet.

Celebrating Safer Internet Day 2019 in Romania

Can technology and digital education rescue the Romanian educational system?

According to multiple studies, around 40 per cent of Romanian pupils are functional illiterates, meaning that they can read and write, but cannot understand or interpret the content.
