Increased collaborations on hacking in the Netherlands

Lately, hacking has been enjoying significant attention in the Netherlands. The Dutch Safer Internet Centre (SIC) regularly receives messages from organisations that look for information and/or cooperation on the topic – a positive sign for the SIC, which is increasingly seen as the point of entry for partner organisations looking to develop resources on hacking.

Release of Dutch online safety lesson materials for Safer Internet Day

For the 2020 edition of Safer Internet Day (SID), the Dutch Safer Internet Centre (SIC) relied more importantly on collaboration with partner organisations, resulting in two main events: the European Youth Day with Europol and the Dutch helpline; and the official launch of new lesson material with Google and one of the SIC's partners. The Dutch SIC also published a press release on a research they conducted, looking at the way parents and children react in case of online emergency.

INHOPE Annual Summit 2019

The second annual INHOPE Summit, Emma's Journey, took place in Facebook's Menlo Park HQ in California in June 2019. It brought together representatives from the technology sector, the US Department of Justice, child advocates from both sides of the Atlantic, and law enforcement, to highlight the critical work that the INHOPE network of hotlines does every day.

Childwebalert hotline conference with social workers and police

The Childwebalert hotline within Agenzija Appogg organised, in collaboration with the BeSmartOnline! Project, a two-day seminar on 28 and 29 May 2018. The aim of this seminar was to give social workers, members of the Malta Police Force and members of the Psychosocial Team within the National School Support Services, an outline of the Childwebalert service.

The Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre receives a special award

The Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) recently received a special award from the Ministry of Interior for civil contribution to the work of the police, at the annual ‘Police Officer of the Year' national ceremony on 29 December 2015.
