In the spotlight: Safer Internet Centre Italy

As part of the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) Quality Assurance Programme (QAP), the Insafe-INHOPE Coordination Teams are jointly conducting a set of ten country visits to the national Safer Internet Centres (SICs) to better understand what is happening in the Member States: monitoring emerging issues and challenges, identifying good practices to be shared, and harvesting the results of the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) policy. From 29-30 October 2019, the Safer Internet Centre Italy was visited, bringing together a group of diverse stakeholders and SIC consortium partners at the Ministry of Education, University of Research in Rome.

Using digital technologies to promote inclusive practices in education

Italian Safer Internet Centre presents educational programmes at Fair Didacta Italy

The second edition of Fair Didacta Italy, the most important education trade fair in the country, took place in Florence from 9-11 October 2019. The fair aims to promote debate on the world of education among institutions, associations and entrepreneurs, and provides a meeting place between schools and companies in the sector. Safer Internet Day 2019 in Italy: no to cyberbullying

European teenagers use their voices for digital good at Italy's Safer Internet Day events

On Monday, 4 February 2019, the 2020 Smarter Internet for Kids Agenda took place in Milan, Italy, gathering many different stakeholders to discuss the priority areas affecting young people online. Microsoft participated in the event to hear the ideas and view the work of dozens of teens, and to promote digital civility, safer and healthier online interactions among all people. During the event, the youth also presented 16 goals to mark 16 years of Safer Internet Day.

Telefono Azzurro: Breaking the silence

On 5 May 2018, the Italian National Day against Pedophilia and Child Pornography*, SOS Il Telefono Azzurro Onlus (one of two internet hotlines operating in the country, and member of INHOPE, the international association of internet hotlines) organised a conference titled "Sexual abuse and pedophilia: Knowing the phenomenon to break the silence". Discussions focused on the importance of multi-disciplinary and multi-level collaboration between different players.
