Take part in the 14th international conference "Keeping children and young people safe online"

Experts from all over Europe will gather to discuss a broad spectrum of issues related to the safety of children and young people on the internet. This year's conference programme will include, among other topics, information threats and online radicalisation, selected negative online phenomena and their prevention, mental wellbeing of the youth, gender-stereotypical behaviour online. Among speakers are many leading experts, including Prof. David Finkelhor, Dr. Jessica Piotrowski and Natasha Devon MBE.

FSM's role of self-regulation under NetzDG

The Voluntary Self-Regulation for Multimedia Service Providers (FSM), German hotline, was recognised by the Federal Office of Justice as the first institution of regulated self-regulation under the Network Enforcement Act (NetzDG) fulfilling the prerequisites of independence and proper transparent procedure.

SIC+ countries meet to discuss awareness raising and youth participation

Global participants in the SIC+ programme recently took part in a webinar to share experiences and good practices relating to awareness raising and youth participation in online safety issues. The Insafe and INHOPE networks launched the SIC+ initiative with the aim of extending and replicating the successful Safer Internet Centre (SIC) model beyond Europe.

Sexual messages, pictures and videos reach young people online every day. Without the consent of the recipient, this must be classified as sexual harassment. As in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic communication has shifted to the digital space even more, the German Awareness Centre klicksafe offers advice for those affected and recommends that children and young people should be made aware of sexual border violations in the digital world in an age-appropriate manner.
