INHOPE supports global call to fight online child sexual abuse and exploitation

On Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 November 2015, a year on from UK Prime Minister David Cameron's undertaking to ensure all governments work hand in hand to combat online child sexual abuse material (CSAM) through the WePROTECT initiative, representatives from 51 governments, law enforcement, the non-profit sector and industry convened in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Insafe and INHOPE at IGF 2015

Approximately 5,000 people, including high-level government officials, civil society leaders and internet policy experts gathered last week - in-person and online - at the 10th Annual meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in João Pessoa, Brazil (10-13 November 2015), to discuss the crucial role the internet must play in the successful implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. A delegation from the joint Insafe and INHOPE networks - a network of Safer Internet Centres (SICs) across Europe, typically comprising an awareness centre, helpline, hotline and youth panel - were present.

YEP from the Youth perspective

Young people from across Europe met for the 7th edition of the European Youth Panel (YEP) which took place in Luxembourg, last month. In total, 10 young people selected from their national youth panels to represent their peers and to share their ideas, thoughts and comments with the stakeholders were present at Safer Internet Forum.
