World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated every 26 April to promote discussion of the role of intellectual property in encouraging innovation and creativity. This year’s World Intellectual Property Day campaign – Reach for Gold – takes a closer look inside the world of sports in particular. It explores how innovation, creativity and the IP rights that encourage and protect them support the development of sport and its enjoyment around the world. See the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) website for further information. Here on the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) portal, we’ll be looking at issues around copyright and intellectual property in general in support of the day. Come back nearer the time to read more. And if you’re marking the day in some way linked to the Better Internet for Kids agenda, why not share an article with us - see our content contribution guidelines, or get in touch for more information.
