In 2000, the Women's World Summit Foundation (WWSF), a non-governmental organisation, launched the World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse on 19 November. WWSF, along with an international coalition of advocacy organisations for women and children's issues, mobilised governments and societies to take action and prevent child abuse. See the WWSF website for further information. Here on the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) portal, we’ll be looking at the role of European hotlines, coordinated by INHOPE, in helping to combat child abuse online. Come back nearer the time to read more. And if you’re marking the day in some way linked to the Better Internet for Kids agenda, why not share an article with us - see our content contribution guidelines, or get in touch for more information.
