The United Nations International Day of Friendship reflects on the concept that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities. It places particular emphasis on involving young people, as future leaders, in community activities that include different cultures and promote international understanding and respect for diversity. See the United Nations website for further information. Here on the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) portal, we’ll be looking at issues relating to online friendship, connecting generations, and celebrating diversity online in support of the day. Come back nearer the time to read more. And if you’re marking the day in some way linked to the Better Internet for Kids agenda, why not share an article with us - see our content contribution guidelines, or get in touch for more information.
